SpOtOn Clinical Diagnostics was incorporated in 2011 as a spin-out company from King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust to exploit the innovative mass spectrometry methods developed at Guy’s Hospital and the Evelina London Children’s Hospital by Professor Neil Dalton and Mr Charles Turner. They have worked together since 1979 and have extensive expertise in newborn screening, as well as in the acute diagnosis and monitoring of kidney disease, inherited metabolic disease, diabetes, calcium metabolism, therapeutic drug monitoring, and more.

SpOtOn moved from the Evelina London Children’s Hospital to the current headquarters at QMB Innovations in Whitechapel in 2023
